Facts about electromagnetic interference pest control
Electromagnetic interference or pulse is created around all electrical circuits. When you for instance plug a Topo Stop in an electrical plug the magnetic field around the wiring will change slightly. The change of electro pulse is so small it can only be quantified by means of using highly sophisticated instruments and as such it is totally negligible and will not affect any living creatures.
Some suppliers of pest control appliances state that the electro pulse generated by their device will deter all pest in a house. Experts within ETL SEMKO , the Swedish State authority for S- and CE-marking regard this claim as sheer nonsense. In order to get an impact on pest in a wall with electro magnetic interference through the wiring system it would take high voltage (thousands of KWs!), an electrical current so strong it would also be harmful to human beings.Better safe than sorry is the order of the day in the USA and Canada regarding electro pulse
We quote: "In 1980 the EPA (Environmental Publications, page 64) and U.S. Postal Service took action to remove all "electromagnetic" (not ultrasonic) pest control devices from the market. Health Canada has banned the sale of electromagnetic pest repellers in Canada. And finally, there are serious questions as to the advisability of increasing one's exposure to electromagnetic energy."
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has also prohibited sales of electromagnetic pest repellers.
